Seeking great "truth," we strive to learn about ourselves....we want to explore and "see" outside the box! The movie, "Dogma," brought both humor and a sense of "ah.." to my own "belief systems." I find the idea expressed in this piece wonderful: "Beliefs" can keep one stuck. It is much better to hold ideas where change and growth are possible." Much of my personal "study" in this life plane comes in the form of relationships. As a Libra, one who has studied Scientology, an appreiciator of Zen, and a lapsed Catholic, I find I am not much good at "following." I love to exchange ideas and thoughts, but also need to find practical application for manifesting in this timeline and moment. Eckhart Tolle's book, The Power of Now, along with Wayne Dyer's thoughts on living in this moment, crystalize some of my own thought processes. I recently listened to a speech by Dr. Len Horrowitz on an interpretation of the Biblical "First there was the word" concept. If thought and word are vibrations, then we become the "tuning forks" for creating our own realities. Because we hold many opposing views within our belief systems, the bringing into form often requires some evaluation. There is no waiting to be "good enough." Life is to be lived and experienced now. In the process, we use the data we have at hand, our personal ethics, and a willingness to operate from the core of us, reaching outward to affect those closest to the entire globe and Earth herself as we strive to be the "best we can be." "I am what I am" (from La Cage aux Folles) - "I am my own special creation...I don't want praise, I don't want pitty....I bang my own drum, some think it's noise, I think it's pretty...Why not try to see things from a different angle...What I am needs no excuses...Your life is a sham until you can stand up and shout, "I am what I am!" and "Man of La Mancha" (Don Quixote) - "Hear me now oh thou bleak and unbearable world, thou art base and debauched as can be...and a knight with his banners all bravely unfurled, now hurls down his gauntlet to thee!...I will march to the sounds of the trumpets of glory...and vitue shall triumph at last...And the wild winds of fortune shall carry my onward oh withersoever they blow!" Explanations and "answers" can be stops that keep us from reaching, exploring, trying new ideas on to check the fit, and may even prevent us from growing and changing. The status quo is a cushion. But...only that and when we are ready to leave the nest of societal garments, we are ready to become more boldly who we are. Some of the questions I ask myself are - "Who" am I? - Can I take a look at my Belief Systems? - How can I live in the NOW? - When I say I want to live with abundance and prosperity....just what do I mean and what do I want to "feel" and think with this? Here are some of my thoughts on topics... Astrology I find astrology to be a tool, an oracle, but ultimately we have free will and the grand ability to choose and create our life. It is a terrific help in psychologically understanding another's perspective and driving forces. Just as in the movie, "Star Wars," the force within the universe connects us all. UFOs I like the line from "Contact," - "In all this vast area of the universe, if we are the only life, what an awful waste of space." It would thrill me to know that extraterrestrial life exists. Also, other dimensional treks and visitors would be marvelously exciting. The idea that our genetic heritage includes otherworldly seeding makes me feel that my sense of homesickness while watching space movies has some reality. I, however, think man needs to take a look as his obsession to place his values and operating systems over the possibility of other beings. As in Michael Crichton's book, The Sphere, the author suggests, "what if there is no frame of reference for thought processes?" We as man tend to be tunnel-visioned by remaining "inside the box" as we seek to explore and evaluate its exterior. Reincarnation I fully accept the idea of reincarnation, however, I don't look at it as a linear front-to-back movement because man is the creator of time distinctions. Reincarnation fits the concept of "Now" as the life experiences in the various compartments called" time" occur at this MOMENT. One can, as in Dean Koontz' book, From the Corner of His Eye, call upon the other "selves" of us to access strength and knowledge (although not necessarily an easy feat). Methodology and acceptable parameters of action can get in the way of modern day miracles. Stepping out of the ordinary frameworks is frightening to both the one taking aciton and any observing this. I feel it is a falicy to place too much import on who a person "is" in any other time area. Why? Because the ego gets in the way. We each have the grand adventure of living now...being whatever we can conceive of ourselves in this existence and relying on heady past kudos of accomplishments in "times of another period" serves to waylay the experiences now. I recently came in contact with a religious sect called Church Universal and Triumphant. The "Teachings" as channeled by "Ascended Masters" are good and honorable. As with any organized religious format, there is a tendency to find its own path as the ONLY path and way to THE TRUTH. Just as with the Teachings from C.U.T, I can find comfortable communication with the ideas and linguistics of the Scientology works. The problem with Scientology - as is the problem with C.U.T. in mirror image form - is the removal of a spiritual format. Scientology has tried to be aesthetically correct (without emotion)...where CUT has tried to be "religiously" so (without individual Godhead....having to follow Ascended Master dictates). This is the most difficult point for mankind and why it is so hard for him to return to the ability to perform miracles. The need for approval and regimented "levels of accomplishment." I am working on Wayne Dyer's philosophy.....(and that of Emmet Fox, Napoleon Hill and other greats!) - apply love to any problem and it elevates one to a closer affinity with the All-That-Is. Because there is only ONE Force and that is GOD....the idea of negativity can be "overwritten".....one of man's greatest joys is the "sorting of chaos." Unfortunately, to have it to sort, man must "create it." Relationship studies are actually "communication" workshops. Ideas are thoughts and these, in turn, are vibrations where the "music of the spheres" comes from and streams through us. The "trick" is, of course, to control our thoughts...no small feat when we talk about human emotion. It is fascinating to me that the various religions around the world have "bits of the TRUTH," but not all. ha! It reminds me of the sitcom of years ago called the "Greatest American Hero." The protagonist and his cop partner find a "superman suit." They go about doing deeds of daring and helping others. The saving GRACE for them is that they lost the instruction manual. In this, they cannot become ALL powerful and therefore corrupt. I suspect this is the reason for keeping humility as a part of humanity. This act allows us to "see" newly. _____________________________________________ Whether one feels this planet is a school....or more lightly as a fantastic journey of possibility, exploration, and experience, I do not believe it to be any sort of a "prison planet." I think God has given us the clay from which to fashion our lives. We need to remember the joy in doing so. Religions are a stable point to keep our societies functioning. I suspect that the rituals we practice are simply hang-overs from a time when man was more connected to the All-That-Is and that we once were able to work miracles in the matrix of energy. I believe it is possible to open this doorway once again. It seems to me that we often suppress this ability to maintain our "reality" by the compounding of agreements with others. It appears to me that Western civilization is prone to emotional display where the Occidental cultures reside more in left brain analysis. If this plane is a petry dish, perhaps we need to learn to mesh right and left brain attributes to find our "sorceror's wand." · Personally, my greatest quests for knowledge are found in my desire to enrich my life with the male/female relationship which would go for the "long haul" and the other, how to manifest abundance. These to date have eluded me in the "fairy tale" format. I am just a mere mortal and still seek to make a difference. I like mankind. I like the world in which we live....and I think we are indeed taking our story to God as Marc Gafni suggests in his book, Soul Prints. In addition, I feel that there is only ONE POWER and that is of God. Our need to present a dichotomy really tells us that it helps us to define ourselves. When we center our minds and hearts in the concept of goodness, we begin to weed out negative thoughts. It is more than theoretical that we can influence others by our presence. .
